YouTube 101: How to Upload
As a joke, I do have to comment about this video. I can relate to the younger man in the video and also feel I can upload videos to YouTube like a "MOFO"! Did anyone else start laughing out loud when he said this? Matt E.

Matt, I was ROTF when I heard that! Hilarious!!! Eboni

This video will discuss the power of social networking sites. The video also discusses the benefits social networking sites can add to an educators classroom.
You've included some really helpful information, Matt.I was especially interested in the information about how to use social networking sites in the classroom. I often struggle with enrichment activities and "catch-up" activitie. Your suggestion for using a class Facebook page for this is really cool!
Becky Bollinger

Matt -- I think that you did an excellent job in highlighting just how social networking sites can be used in the classroom. What a great idea; taking what the kids like to do anyway and using as a tool in the classroom. By having a classroom page, you'll be able to monitor the content and just who is viewing/posting as well. :0) Melanie

This video talks about mobile learning and the way you can use it as another way to enhance learning and make it more 'on demand'. Chris R
This was great. You thoughts and ideas of using mobile learning to enhance the classroom was awesome. I am actually considering what I can do with my math classroom for next year. Matt E.

You found some great apps for foreign language classrooms! I have already added them! Thanks for the great ideas! Stephanie

This video discusses Web 2.0 and how Web 2.0 tools can be used in the classroom.
Well done, Mike. I liked your ideas of how web 2.0 tools can be used in a math classroom. I teach math and always struggle with ways to do this. Matt E.

Hi Mike~
I enjoyed watching and listening to your presentation. You described some Web2.0 tools and their applications in a straightforward and easy to understand way. I like how you suggested the multiple uses for blogs and podcasts. Nice job~

Submitted by Becky B. This is a video that discusses the definition of digital citizenship, some recommendations from the International Society for Technology in Education, and a specific example of cyberbullying.
I liked you section on copyright laws as a part of digital citizenship. There is some excellent and necessary information that should be shared with students! Stephanie

Becky, likes your sections on Responsible use and cyberbullying. I will show our counselor your work and see if we can us it in our program! Denise

Becky...I think that all schools should have digital citizen. It could be a part of the acceptable use policy that they complete some type of course. It could be online, perhaps it could be in videogame format like the text suggests :-)

This video is an introduction to Web 2.0 and how it can easily be added to your assignments.
Great job, Danielle! The inflections in your voice really make this video pop. I liked the embedded video. It shows nicely what web2.0 is without being boring. -Becky Bollinger

Danielle--You were right, that wasn't the boring presentation we're used to sitting though! Your enthusiasm really makes a difference in engaging the audience and your use of graphics and video make it memborable. Great job! -Kelly

Stephanie, I found a lot of information very valuable from your presentation. I was never sure what an aggrigator was or that it even existed. I will use your suggestions. Great Job

What is an e-Portfolio and the use of e-Portfolios as an assessment or final project.
external image insert_table.gifDenise, I never knew Google got into the e-portfolio business. I should hardly be surprised though. I like that Universities allow their students to use e-portfolios so that prospective employers can look at student work. I'd love for high schools to do that so that college bound students can demonstrate their abilities as well.

Kelly :)

Hi Denise -- I will be honest, I didn't know anything about ePortfolios until this class. Your presentation gave me a enough information to work through the creation of such a portfolio. I know you said that it could be used as an eir kids end of unit assessment and then got me thinking even further -- it might be great to use such a portfolio to showcase student knowledge attained throughout a school year. I bet parents would really like seeing their kids' accomplishments. This is also alot easier to save than the big plastic containers some of my friends use to save their kids work. Thanks. Melanie

Hi Denise!
I'm sold! I think I will be using e-portfolios next year with my language arts classes to keep them orgainzed and to show growth through the school year. This is a great way for them to see how they are doing on an on-going basis. Thanks for the information!

This video discusses Web2.0 tools like blogs, wikis, podcasts, web portals and digital storytelling. It both explains what these tools are and how they can be utilized in the classroom.

I really have a problem with having my name on the internet and it's on this video so I've made my video private and unlisted. If that makes the video unable to load here, you can use this link:

Kelly...
I had never understood what Web 2.0 meant before this class, even though I had heard it often. I have found podcasts to be really helpful myself. Chris R.

Hi Kelly! I thought your video did a great job of presenting information about Web 2.0 tools. I liked your examples of how wikis could be used in different types of classrooms. I especially liked the information about digital storytelling. I can think of a lot of situations when I could use this in my classroom!

Submitted by Melanie Christopher --- This video gives an overview of student centered learning environments. It briefly compares content-centered with student centered and explains why student centered is more conducive to 21st century learners.

Melanie, I really liked your video. I think it highlighted the exact need for why courses need to shift their focus from content based to student centered learning. I really liked how you related it to today workforce, and how students graduating will need to know more about how to apply knowledge and problem solve, rather than just regurgitate information. You also gave a great overview of the differences between the two learning environments and it made it clear as to why student centered learning is more beneficial to the student. Great job! ~Mike M.

Hi Melanie! I thought your video did a great job of explaining the concept and need for student-centered learning in the 21st century classroom. I thought that the connections to the workplace and Bloom's taxonomy were especially well-made. A focus on problem-solving through open-ended assignments is a great way to make the classroom truly student-centered and will result in learning that is deeper and longer-lasting. Mike W.

Mike Moore, Final Presentation. This video gives an overview of Web 2.0 tools, specifically Wikis and Video Conferencing. For some reason, this doesn't play all the time. If you click on the video, it takes you to YouTube and you can watch it from there. I don't know what is wrong with it. Thanks!

Podcasting 101: For the Elementary Educator
By: Eboni Creighton

This video will provide the Elementary Educator with a fundamental understanding of Podcasting and its applications in the classroom.

I could not log in to YouTube and am in contact with them to see why not. My video is an overview of Web 2.0 tools and their applications. ~Sharon
(5/1 - I think I got it on YouTube! Yay! Security on my school computer blocked my from working with YouTube. )

Sharon, I like your video. This shows the administration and teachers there are many tools that are easy to use to reach our sudents. Our school put us in a half hour meeting and said explore web2.0 tools, and that was it. May I show this to my principal and IT department. Our school doesn't even have the capability to use a wiki. I got the ball rolling and hope to get a few more teachers to bug the IT department. Your video will certainly help. *Denise

Sharon,

I really enjoyed your video as well! You gave real world applications as you were presenting each type of technology then rolled it all together to discuss the professional applications of Web 2.0 tools. You did a great job giving great information of a variety of ways Web 2.0 tools can be used instead of focusing on just one or two since there were so many to choose from. Nice job!
